Topic: The Ontario Human Rights Code - Case Studies

Objectives:

During this class students will examine the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

Method of Instruction and Evaluation:

To assist students in exploring the issues outlined above, the class will form into three groups in order to examine case studies involving actual human rights complaints within Ontario.

Group AJeppesen v. Corporation of the Town of Ancaster, Fire and Emergency Services et al.
Group BMetsala v. Falconbridge Ltd, Kidd Creek Division
Group CFuller v. Daoud and Desquilbet

After each group examines their respective case, students will answer the following questions associated with their specific case:

Students will then share the facts of the case, as well as their conclusions, with the class.
