Topic: The Supreme Court - Interpreter of Canada's constitution

Objectives:

During this class students will examine the history and the function of the Supreme Court of Canada.

Finally, students will come to understand how the Supreme Court serves to protect the values held dear by Canadians, while at the same time coming to appreciate two typical criticisms of the Supreme Court.

Method of Instruction and Evaluation:

Students will examine these concepts and issues through a Socratic style lecture. Note: A pop quiz is never beyond the realm of possibility.
