Overview:

By the end of the Information Technology module, students will have contsructed a web page that demonstrates:

• the student's ability to use both the Internet and the school network in order to locate and examine information;
• the students effective use of presentation software (ie. Power Point); and
• the student's effective use of html editing software (ie. Dida).

Requirements:

• Students will first create a Power Point presentation which outlines the following information about their proposed business project:
  • the name of the business,
  • the general type of business (service, manufacturing, merchandising);
  • a description of the product or service which the proposed business would provide;
  • an explanation of the need/want which the proposed business would satisfy;
  • the characteristics, training, skills, and/or experience posessed by the students which would contribute to the success of the proposed business.

• Students will then translate their Power Point presentation into a web page which presents the same information as outlined above. (Please refer to The Hot Stove Rule as an example of a Web Page produced from a Power Point presentation.)

This is an in-class assignment (to be completed and presented within class). Please refer to the BIB1W Evaluation Summary for the due date associated with this assignment. The Power Point presentation and the web page will be marked out of 40. Please remember that spelling and grammar will comprise 20% of this mark. Please consult the marking scheme while preparing your web page, and remember to hand this sheet in with your completed assignment.
